I got the imaginary friend in the mail but it hasn't shown up in my inventory?

It said that i got an imaginary friend in the mail for my child and to get it out of the mailbox, so i went out, got the mail and nothing new showed up in my inventory or my babies. So I waited until they turned into toddlers and still, nothing showed up in our inventories. so i went out and got the mail again, she grabbed a package out of it and it just disappeared and nothing was in any of the inventories... help?
