What to do when a parent passes that only has belongings and a vehicle and I cant afford an attorney?

The parent was not in contact most of the childs life and left belongings and a vehicle. Some stuff was taken out of their home prior to arriving as well as his wallet. All the rest of the stuff is sitting in storage and nobody has come to claim it. We cant access his mailbox w/out a key and the post office doesnt have a copy of the key nor the appartment manager. Nobody wants to be in charge of his estate but cant store it forever either.
